Coffee with a Cop program is held quarterly at various times & locations throughout town. A national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services; the program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time! Colonial Beach police officers join community members in an informal, neutral space to meet each other, discuss community issues, build relationships, and of course share a cup of coffee or tea.

National Neighborhood WatchThe National Neighborhood Watch program empowers citizens to become active in community efforts through participation in Neighborhood Watch groups. Every day, citizens encounter situations calling upon them to be the eyes and ears of law enforcement. Not only does neighborhood watch allow citizens to help in the fight against crime, it is also an opportunity for communities to bond through service. The Neighborhood Watch Program draws upon the compassion of average citizens, asking them to lend their neighbors a hand.

National Night Out; is an annual nationwide event to help build community-police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie that takes place on the first Tuesday in August each year. The Colonial Beach Police Department is honored to hold this event with the community each year and meet with the citizens we serve.
