First DORA Sip & Stroll in Town of Colonial Beach to be held during

November Second Friday Art Walk

The first of up to 16 annual Sip & Strolls in Town of Colonial Beach, Virginia, (CBVA) will be held Friday, November 11, 6-9 pm, during Colonial Beach Artists Guild’s Second Friday Art Walk. Sip & Strolls permit the consumption of alcohol in a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), as regulated by Virginia ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority.)

During Sip & Strolls, those of legal drinking age (21+ years) may purchase “to-go” alcoholic beverages from select ABC-licensed retailers, walk with those drinks throughout the designated downtown district, and visit select businesses with drinks in hand. Drinks in specially-marked Sip & Stroll cups will be the only alcoholic beverages allowed in the DORA.

For this first event, beverages can be purchased at the following downtown, ABC-licensed businesses:

  •  Colonial Beach Brewing
  •  Monroe Bay Vineyards (at its Washington Ave. location)
  •  Oomboon Restaurant
  •  Raven’s Point
  •  Tides Inn Market

Event-goers can take their Sip & Stroll beverages onto the premises of the following businesses during the November event:

  •  Coldwell Banker Elite
  •  Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce
  •  Colonial Beach Printing
  •  Dockside Realty
  •  Hawthorne Mercantile
  •  The Hive
  •  Jarrett Thor / Colonial Beach Artist Alliance
  •  Julie’s Coffeehouse
  •  Riverview Inn

DORA initiatives are designed to bring more people to the scenic, downtown waterfront district, encourage exploration of the town and discovery of new businesses, and provide additional support and revenue-generating opportunities for local retailers.

Town of Colonial Beach’s Sip & Strolls are sponsored by:

Platinum Sponsors ($1,000): Coldwell Banker Elite and Eric Nelson/Coldwell Banker Elite

Gold Sponsors ($750): Dockside Realty

Bronze Sponsors ($250): Oomboon Restaurant, Point of View Properties, and Colonial Beach Brewing

Events are managed by Town of Colonial Beach in partnership with Downtown Colonial Beach, aligning with the organization’s goals and Main Street principles. Colonial Beach Police

Department will enforce DORA regulations, ensuring participating retailers and consumers comply with relevant law and ABC regulations.
