Smart Tech Discovery Challenge The Economic Development and Tourism department recently hosted a Smart Tech Discovery Challenge with Go Virginia, Stafford County Economic Development and R!ot Training. 13 Tech companies visited Colonial Beach to discuss solutions to challenges facing localities. The Smart Tech company representatives included leaders from Germany and across the country. Many were first time visitors to Colonial Beach.
National Main Street America Conference The Town of Colonial Beach was recently represented at a National Main Street America Conference. What is Main Street you ask? “Main Street America leads a collaborative movement with partners and grassroots leaders that advances shared prosperity, creates resilient economies and improves quality of life through place-based economic development and community preservation in downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts across the county.” Main Street America offers resources and opportunities to cities and towns.
Virginia Tourism Corporation Visits Colonial Beach The Economic Development & Tourism department recently hosted Virginia Tourism Corporation’s content management team. Many enjoyed their first visit to Colonial Beach. This team is responsible for updating the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s website and locality information.

2024 Yard Debris Pick up Schedule |

June 24 to June 28 August 5 to August 9 September 30 to October 4 November 11 to November 15 December 9 to December 13
These pickups will only take place on your trash day during the weeks above. We do not schedule individual pickups. Yard debris that needs to be disposed of outside of these weeks is the resident's responsibility. Please make sure that the yard debris is separated from your normal trash. Yard debris must be either bagged or tied in bundles no longer than 4 feet in length, with branches no larger than 4 inches in diameter, and weigh no more than 40 lbs. |

After a Potomac River swim, cyclists will see stunning seaside and farmland views on well paved roads. 4th Friday Sip N’ Stroll with Downtown Colonial Beach |

|  | Downtown Colonial Beach (DCB) and the Town of Colonial Beach are partnering for another year of Sip N’ Stroll. Visitors can sip alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, or cocktails) while strolling through a designated outdoor area within a specified timeframe. Alcohol must be purchased from ABC-licensed establishments. Customers also may sip and stroll through other participating businesses such as retail stores and art galleries. The Search for a Golden Oyster Shell |
